Robson Drops Miguel Interest

Despite being a big fan of the Portuguese ace, Sir Bobby Robson has admitted that any chance of a deal to bring Miguel to St James' Park is looking unlikely, after Benfica raised their asking price.

Robson is in search of a full-back, and was keen to land the right back this summer, but the asking price for Miguel has been hugely increased following his success in this summer's European Championships.

Speaking about the matter, Robson said:

"Miguel has been a sensation. I knew he was a good player before the tournament and tipped off my chairman about him.

"Unfortunately Benfica want double their money after his performances here."

Another target of Robson's is believed to be Spurs' Stephen Carr, but do we really want him?

Also, why not take a look at our right-back guide (correct as of June 16th '04) which is based on players we have been linked with.

Who would you like to see arrive at St James' Park this summer? Let us know!
