The Football Association have announced that they will not be taking any action against Chelsea defender Robert Huth over his alleged stamp on Alan Shearer in Sunday's Premiership tie at St James' Park which the Magpies' won 2-1.
The German was booked earlier in the game before he appeared to purposely stamp on Alan Shearer after being penalised for a foul against the Toon striker late into the game.
The FA did watch the match video, but match referee Rob Styles confirmed he had seen the incident - therefore no further action will be taken.
Alan Shearer joked after the game:
“I don’t know if they are still in working order — but they are a bit black and blue.
“They’re still there. I counted them. They’re a bit scratched but they’re hanging on.
“I thought Huth could have done better with the tackle. I thought he could have stepped over me.”
So lets get this right. Styles SAW the incident and did NOTHING about it? What was he thinking?
