The former England striker told the Official Newcastle United website: "Hopefully we can end that little run of drawing games away from home by winning at Tottenham.
"They're always capable of scoring goals but as we've seen recently they concede a few as well.
"It should be a good game and we go there in good spirits after the win over Mallorca."
Newcastle United's Kieron Dyer (hamstring) is a big doubt for the game after limping off during the Uefa Cup win over Real Mallorca, along with striker Craig Bellamy (hamstring).
Jonathan Woodgate (virus) and Lee Bowyer however, could return.
Spurs' Fredi Kanoute and Christian Ziege are back in the squad, while Simon Davies is still missing.
'Keeper Lars Hirschfeld has been recalled by Tottenham from a loan spell at Gillingham and will be given a place on the bench after an ankle injury to Rob Burch.
