THE BEST IS YET TO COME?

Despite easing their way back into the top four with with a victory over Middlesbrough last weekennd, Newcastle need to find some sort of form needed to hold onto the place and wil lbe hoping for a further three points on Sunday at Portsmouth.

Jermaine Jenas is confident that Newcastle are ready to peak just when they need it most.

This weekend would be the ideal time to start as they look for only their third away win in the league.

Jenas said: "A lot of the lads would admit we've been up and down all season and there's a lot to come.

"But to say we've been up and down all season and still be in fourth spot, that shows we've got some grit and determination about ourselves and a bit of fight.

"Hopefully, if we do get a bit of a smoother run into the end of the season, we can end up in that fourth spot.

"Everyone's got tough games to play. Fulham have been up there, Southampton have been up there, Everton at one stage were up there - they're fading away a bit now - but there really are no easy games any more."
