Woodgate is nursing a groin strain that he picked up in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Leicester City and is a major doubt for Wednesday's Premiership trip to Blackburn Rovers.

The former Leeds United defender has endured a stop-start campaign since joining us, due to injury after undergoing a hernia operation and also suffering a hamstring strain.

In recent weeks, though, he has been back to his best form with him and Andy O’Brien forming a strong partnership in the centre of our defence. Woodgate could now face a further three weeks on the sidelines. This would mean a return to the side for Bramble to partner O’Brien

Although the Woodagte scare is bad news for Bobby, French Winger Laurent Robert is back in Paris to see a specialist to determine if surgery is needed. Robson is confident that an operation wont be needed, and Robert is not too far away from being fit.
