Sky Sports News is claiming that Birmingham City are currently weighing up a move for unsettled Newcastle United midfielder Nolberto Solano. Jimmy Walker

NOBBY TO BIRMINGHAM?

Nobby's future at St James' Park has been the subject of intense speculation over the last few months following a bust-up with Magpies manager Sir Bobby Robson.

Sir Bobby has been upset regarding Solano's commitment with Peru's national team - and Nobby himself is unhappy at his lack of first-team action he has been getting.

Robson has previously admitted he would be willing to let Peruvian winger leave for the right price and Birmingham City could well be ready to test this.

Aston Villa have also been linked with Solano, but it is believed that their city rivals Birmingham are leading the chase for the player's signature.
