Sir Bobby claimed this week that to strengthen his squad he would need to spend an awful lot of cash! Newcastle United have been linked with several players including Eidur Gudjohnsson, Alan Smith... Newcastle United have been linked with several players including Eidur Gudjohnsson, Alan Smith, James Beattie, Henrik Larsson, and Michael Bridges, over the last few weeks.

However the majority of these rumours have been reported in the press. And that’s just exactly what it is, Press talk.

With Craig Bellamy looking to return on time from his injury nightmare Sir Bobby said “We have (Craig) Bellamy back in two-and-a-half weeks; Shola (Ameobi) was awesome on Wednesday in the reserves; we're playing (Kieron) Dyer up front with Shearer, and (Michael) Chopra got a hat-trick for the reserves,"

Well with these comments it looks like any transfer the magpies fans hope for my not happen!
