CORT MOVE PLAYED DOWN

Having failed in moves for Arsenal's Francis Jeffers and Liverpool's Milan Baros, Pompey boss Harry Redknapp, was believed to be after Newcastle striker Cort.
However, Cort's representative Jonathan Barnett, has admitted that he is not away of the Pompey interest, and that the Magpies' are unlikely to get him leave St James' Park at the moment.
"I have not heard anything about Portsmouth," Barnett told skysports.com.
"I don't think a loan move would be on as far as I know.
"Carl would just like the chance to play as he is not playing at Newcastle.
"I don't think Newcastle would want a loan deal, but they could be willing to sell if the price was right."
