Newcastle fan AKIN, says:

speed is our only defensive midfielder so everyone thinks he is indespensible, in actual fact he dosent even play in midfield for his national side, is not as good as robbie savage???....well mark hughes seems to think he isnt.

there are LOADS of players in the premiership who would play in that role better than him............everyone says we miss him when he is injured, but the ONLY time that he has been replaced by bowyer, newcastle played there best football(against arsenal)

bowyer has bags of energy and is naturally combative......... his natural posistion is in the centre of midfield.......... he could break up play and break from midfield to score......... hes distrisbution is great, he would create more goals than speed would he would compliement jj perfectly.......... and lets face it he is a better player than speed.

speed has been a great servant but he is the past, its time to move on, we will never win things if we continue to talk about how good a player used to be............. even sir alex drops keane in favour of younger blood despite the fact that he is STILL an exceptional player

im sure if three years ago i had suggested that rob lee was past it many people in here will be screaming bloody murder..........fans cannot accept that players can be replaced until they are.

just look at arsenhole..........anelka left, henry arrived overmars left pires arrived...........................nobody thought they could cope without vieira............5-1 at inter
