Newcastle's Casino Plans With American Company MGM

Newcastle United have announced a joint venture to the Stock Exchange in London, with American company MGM Mirage, to build a complex which could include a hotel and a casino.

The plan is subject to a number of conditions, which includes the deregulation of current gaming laws in this country.
Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd said: "This is a very exciting opportunity for Newcastle, its people and for Newcastle United Football Club.
"Situated alongside St James' Park, we hope that the development will become a focal point for the city of Newcastle and create a vibrant mixed-use development at the heart of the city."
