ROBSONS GRUDGE

Newcastle United striker Lomana LuaLua has once again spoken out regarding his frustration at Sir Bobby Robson for constantly leaving him out of the Magpies' squad.

He said: "I don't think it's a good idea to ask for a transfer because that may reflect badly on me, but something's got to happen. Things must be settled.

"At the moment I need to have my head right for the African Nations Cup so it's the wrong time to be making waves.

"Normally, you know a couple of days beforehand (if you've been selected for a reserve match) but I turned up as usual for training on Monday to find that I'd been included. No-one told me.

"As a result I wasn't ready. I hadn't prepared properly and was not properly fit.

"This led to the boss telling me I was show boating in the game so I said 'Take me off then'.

"Things haven't been the same since. There were words, I think he's bearing a grudge.

"I've been almost completely ignored since then and it's not as if I'm inexperienced.

"I played against Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last season.

"I don't know what I'm doing here. I need a run of games but it looks like the manager does not have the same confidence in me as I have."
