Cabaye: We are all focused together

Newcastle United’s deputy captain Yohan Cabaye has come out and spoken after the weekend draw and comments made ahead of that game by former Newcastle player Kevin Nolan. Cabaye has rubbished talk of ‘cliques’ within the team, welcomed the return of Fabricio Coloccini and confirmed that the team are focused

He told The Gazette;

“In the dressing room, everything is OK. The French players all want to adapt well. We’re all focused together.

I’m 100 per cent with everyone – I just want to save the club with my team-mates. I want to stay in the Premier League. We wanted to show we are together.

We’ve stayed focused on being safe and playing in the Premier League next season. That’s the most important thing.

We know we’re going to play well if we’re focused together and stay together. We can’t create cliques – we have to stay focused.

I think we had a good response form last week, but we didn’t win the game. It’s going to be very important to get three points. It’s only about us.”

Colo’s back as well. It was a good, refreshed team.

I think it was a good draw if we think about the Liverpool game. It was a good response from everyone on the pitch. We had to fight. It’s never easy to play against this team.

We played well in the first half. There were good things on the pitch. But if we think about the other results, it starts to be hard for us.”

Its about time he's come out and said something, he's been captain for the last dozen or so matches so should have been the first player making a statement

He has been bloody dreadful the last 4 matches. He needs to pull his @#$%& finger out. Easily our worst player of late.

(and from our best as well)

Unfortunately i think he has been told to come out and say this, i know there has been a lot of people commenting on how quiet he has been about the whole situation!

Totally agree dave, unfortunately Anita who would be the perfect replacement has been pretty poor recently.

I've been involved in a few debates recently regarding cabaye and whether it would be such a bad thing if he was sold in the summer!
