Newcastle United have released a short statement updating on Massadio Haidaras injury sustained in the 26th minute of today's game against Wigan. The statement on the official website NUFC.co.uk read;
"Massadio Haidara suffered a knee and thigh injury in the first half of Newcastle United's Barcley's Premier League fixture away against Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
The full-back was stretchered off following a challange by Callum McManaman, and immediately left the DW Stadium, heading to Newcastle where he will be assessed further."
Up to that point haidara was playing well, thought the ref was an embarrassment should have sent him off and didn't deserve to get beat after the second half performance.
The tackle was a disgrace and has no place in football. Just hope it does not end the career of a young promising professional. How can Wigan manager come on TV afterwards and defend the player after a challenge like that, he has went right down in my estimation and I hope his team goes down too.
