Kevin Gameiro Signs For PSG

Striker Kevin Gameiro has signed for Paris St Germain in a deal rumoured to be worth 11million Euros plus add-ons. The French International was linked with Newcastle Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur prior to signing for PSG on a 4 year deal.

He will start the new season by lining up against his former side Lorient on 6th August as the two sides kick off the 2011/12 season.

Newcastle had allegedly agreed terms with Lorient weeks ago but Gameiro was reluctant to move, at the time he said;

"I want to go to a bigger club than Lorient in France or abroad.

I have always said I am a fan of Spain, this is the football I love. If I go abroad it is to play in the Champions League.

If I stay in France, this would be for the Champions League and maybe also the Europa League."

Im glad it didnt happen. If his heart is not in it then paying somebody stupid money may not remedy the problem.

We would probably have just ended up with another Xisco or Luque.
