Patrick Van Aanholt couldn't have been more complimentary of Newcastle United as he said goodbye to the club he has spent the last 4 weeks at. The 19 year old who was an instant hit on the pitch has been recalled by Chelsea putting an end to speculation he could stay on Tyneside.
He told The Chronicle;
"They (United) have the capabilities to win this league and if they keep winning like this, then that's what will happen. It's a great team, and I hope they win the league.
Of course I'll be watching the results - I'll be keeping in touch with all the players.
I'm sure everything will be fine."
Asked whether he felt he could return to Newcastle he said;
"As far as that is concerned, you never know - time will tell. I enjoyed my time in Newcastle. I've had a great time, but Chelsea's my club, so I have no choice but to go back.
The ovation meant a lot to me. They like me, I think. I've enjoyed my time, and the fans have been important to me.
Everyone wants to play for a club like Newcastle, especially me. It's been a great experience to play with Fabricio (Coloccini).
He's an unbelievable player. He's an Argentina international, and it's been a pleasure to play with him and the whole team."
I'd like to see him finish up the season here if we could extend the loan, but with Cashley injured, I doubt Chelsea will let him leave. Enrique should be back soon, but having the kid around would still help.
I hope Jose isnt rushed back though because Van has gone. Im sure Kadar would do just fine espec with it being Barnsley at home. Maybe the extra bite of Kadar would be a bonus if you know what I mean as Barnsley get stuck in.
Think he was bought in for the month because that was his expected return time. So it seems this was planned from the beginning and that he has hit his expected return date as opposed to being rushed back.
He has really taken to the club by the sounds of it, an we have taken to him, i hope its not the last we see of him in our colors but if it is i wish him all the best for the future
Biffins Bridge I hope Jose isnt rushed back though because Van has gone. Im sure Kadar would do just fine espec with it being Barnsley at home. Maybe the extra bite of Kadar would be a bonus if you know what I mean as Barnsley get stuck in.
For the sake of one game it is best to be safe with Jose, rush him back and he could make his injury worse, and could rule him out longer. We have been good at home and could probably get by without him.
Aanholt has been good for us, and in the future will be a very good player, I think we should monitor the progress of him in case we lose Enrique through injury or a club want to buy him, which could be the case as he is proving to be a top left back
Has Enrique been training? Playing with the reserves? I agree about not rushing him back but you've got to blood him back into the squad sometime. Kadar's on the bench so maybe wor Jose only gets 50-60 minutes?
Dont know if its the same injury as before but he didnt last long today. F00king shame like but sure they wouldnt have played him if they didnt think he was ready.
