Taylor Remains Committed

Steven Taylor, probably the most vocal player during the transfer window has told how he is pleased to have remained at the club despite being linked to various Premier League outfits. Taylor expressed his desire to stay at Newcastle United repeatedly over the summer but with owner Mike Ashley's bid to cut the wage bill effectively reshaping the entire 1st team, Taylor is lucky to have survived.

He told the Gazette;

"I'm happy - I'm playing my football here, and I've got a smile on my face. I think every defender was being linked to clubs, and my name got mentioned, but my friends and family are up here, and I'm enjoying my football.

I honestly believe we'll get back up as champions.

I was in the team that got us relegated - and I want to be in the team that got us back up. I was the last player to kick a ball in the Premiership, and that made it worse - I'll never forget that.

I was devastated, but we've got to move on - it's as simple as that."
