Spanish striker Xisco has been quoted in a Sunday paper, admitting his engineered his move out of Newcastle United this summer, by not playing. Xisco was thought to be suffering with a groin injury prior to his 1 year loan move to Racing Santander, which left youngster Nile Ranger to hold the fort upfront against Leicester City last Monday evening. However the 23 year old went on to train with his new club on Wednesday morning.
He is quoted in The Sunday Mirror as saying;
"After a difficult first year in Newcastle, this year seemed it was going to be more of the same and a good time to leave.
I even stopped playing in the last few days to force my exit.
If they hadn't accepted the loan at Santander, I would have regarded my situation at Newcastle as hopeless."
