Ashley To Put The Club In The Ground With His Antics

Mike Ashley has proved he has no interest in Newcastle United several times over but the latest kick in the teeth comes as the club put all bids for players on hold until the club is sold. Newcastle United defender Sebastien Bassong has made it clear he is interested in seeking a new club and Tottenham Hotspur are the first Premier League team to come in with a bid for the Frenchman.

Despite Mike Ashley preventing any transfers to or from the club, Spurs are said to have put in a 6Million bid for Bassong.

Several sources are reporting the story with prices ranging between 5millon - 7millon, whilst others allege Newcastle are holding out for a 10Million, either way, no move will be agreed until Mike Ashley confirms the sale of the club, something which doesn't look to be happening anytime soon. In addition to Bassong, Alan Smith was on his way out the door with Blackburn lined up to sign him, this too has been put on hold.

For Mike Ashley, a man gutted by his club's demise to the Championship (so he says) and the fans who will stand by the team no matter what, a sale cannot come quick enough. However with 2 weeks or so until the start of the season, no incoming players, no outgoing players, no manager and no secure staff structure just where will Newcastle United be, come the beginning of the 2009/2010 season? Stuck with Mike Ashley no doubt; a man who couldn't give a damn, leaving a weak squad, and frustrated fans and a dodgy away strip to boot.

Several months ago some said not to blame Mike Ashley for the downfall of Newcastle United but for the time being there appears to be nobody else who can be blamed and nobody else who can be left with the blame if it all goes to pot next season.

You seem more intrested in watching us fall over than your own potty little team?

Just remind me again, where have Leeds been since 2004?
