Chris Hughton, Newcastle United's caretaker manager, will have both Claudio Cacapa and Geremi available tomorrow after they both passed fitness tests. They will both rejoin the side after missing games through injury at the beginning of the season. Hughton who has been placed in charge since Kevin Keegan walked away from the club, is delighted to see his injured players returning and should have a reasonably healthy squad to pick from.

However, Jonas Gutierrez will not feature in tomorrow's match against Hull after injuring his shoulder in this weeks World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Peru. Jonas is currently on his way back from international duty, but depending on the scale of the injury he is likely to be out until early October.  This could see him miss, Hull, West-ham, Spurs and Blackburn.

Hughton told nufc.co.uk:

"They (Geremi and Cacapa) are two very experienced players and it is good to have them back.

We still have a few players missing at the moment so to be able to have Geremi and Claudio available is pleasing.

It is a boost to have them back, not only for their experience but also for their quality. Jonas came down very heavy on his shoulder. At this particular moment, until he is back with us and has been assessed, we cannot say what the exact damage is. We'll know more once we have seen him."

On Michael Owen he said:

"Michael came through his first 90 minutes of the season at Arsenal just before the international break and he's also had a good two weeks training before this game so he's looking good.

He came off the bench to score the winner against Bolton and then he was probably the only person happy our game at Coventry went to extra time because that gave him more minutes on the pitch.

He is a big player for us."

both likely to start. especially if beye is out, taylor at RB perhaps. Cacapa and Colo in the middle and Bassong at LB.
