While Newcastle United's Midfielder Geremi and leading goal scorer Obafemi Martins remain in the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon and Nigeria respectively, team mates Habib Beye and Abdoulaye Faye will return home this week after failing to reach the quarter finals with Senegal.

Senegal drew 1-1 with South Africa earlier today meaning that both teams were eliminated from the cup.

Throughout the competition Senegal drew againat Tunisia
(2-2) and South Africa but lost 3-1 to Angola. Only Faye started todays match, whilst Beye was on the bench.

It is unknown whether either of the players will feature against Middlesbrough on Sunday.

The quarter finals will be played over the weekend 3/4 February with Ghana v Nigeria on Sunday and Cameroon v Tunisia on Monday. If both Nigeria and Cameroon make it through to the semi finals - Martins and Geremi will play against each other on the 7th February in Accra.

Good link there at the bottom. I guess the front office figured, hey, we get Faye back. Now we have 4 CB. Time to sell one! What could go wrong?
