Tyne-Talk regulars give their opinions on the departure of Sam Allardyce by "mutual consent". The forum has been extremely busy with the buzz, expectation and rumours surrounding the club and the potential new managers.
"A Joke"

"I wasn't hoping to see Sam leave, but we'll know more about the ambition and abilities of the new administration by watching what happens next than we would have otherwise. I'm expecting a bold move to follow, and will only be disappointed if its either unplanned or a let down"
(Exileonwearside)
"Newcastle United has become a football club for all to admire over the last decade or so. Unfortunately none of the reason for this includes stability and faith."
(Becksa09)
"Sacking managers after half a season in charge is bad policy, full stop.
That said, I don't think Sam is ever going to manage a team that plays any style but long-ball. That style becomes less effective by the day.
CAshley better have a plan."
(Tunyc)
"I just never felt that Big Sam was the right appointment from the start, I agree the timing is maybe wrong unless Ashley already has the next manager nearly wrapped up
Lets just get behind the team and hope and pray for the best, we might be pleasantly surprised"

"This news has come as a major shock. Initially I thought he was the right man for the job but he lost the dressing room and fans support and the football we played was horrible to watch. The fact remains he wasn't given enough time but still we weren't showing enough improvement, if any at all. Ultimately a manager is judged by his results and Allardyce, unlike Sven for example, has not brought in the desired results which is a shame."

"Glad he's gone - timing seems strange though if no-one is lined up to take his place.
We must get the right man for the job, a proven winner and give him the support and time he needs from fans and management alike.
Ha'way the lads."
(Cappen)
"Didn't really come as a surprise, the form where in a the moment is relegation form, find it a bit hard to understand the timing, mid week no game Man Utd at the weekend, seems a bit odd, if Sam had won in the cup then the pressure would have been off given our upcoming fixtures"
(Shearers legs)
"Again I find myself devastated by this club. Big Sam is a top class manager and we don't give him time to do his thing. I said when he got the job he needed at least 3 years to get it right. Typical of Newcastle United, jumping the gun AGAIN. I'M sick of it"
(Dubs)
"I'm afraid Big Sam was doomed from the start! Mr Ashley bought into the club to soon after Sam was appointed & I cant help but feel that Ashley has looked for a reason ever since!
He never really backed Sam & for a billionaire spent very little money in close season At least now he can get the Manager of his choice & hopefully back him with Time as well as cash"
(Roysta)
"How about, 'The final Dyce has been thrown'
just joshing everyone. I am as sickened as any of you re the state of Newcastle United over the years.
Newcastle fans don't deserve the tripe they have had to put up with both by management and players who have exploited the club for ages.
Good Luck - I hope whoever they get does you all proud."

"Not a fan, but anyone asking for 3-5 years should be sacked, esp. when Sven can make Man City a top 5 team as soon as he arrives."
