Newcastle have finally signed defender Abdoulaye Faye according to the Offical site, from Big Sam's former club Bolton in a three year deal, AND, Habib Beye, the 29 year old now former Marseille skipper has also signed a 3 year deal with the magpies.
At 23:58 on the 31/08/2007 Nolberto Solano once again left the Newcastle United fold, this time he joined West Ham United FC.
There has been speculation linking Solano to West Ham for several weeks, he previously cited "family reasons" as a need to move south, in a similar way to Dyer's situation.
Earlier this month Allardyce said:
"Nobby has talked about his family situation and that's obviously something we have to try and resolve.
But at the moment unlike Kieron where West Ham have come in with a big offer, nobody has come in for Nobby. So he stays with us and he really is not someone I would want to lose."
He was also quoted reiterating his point:
"Nobby Solano has a similar problem to Kieron in that he wants to be nearer to his family and if that needs to be resolved then it could be the case that he leaves the club. At the moment there has been no offer and I don't particularly want him to leave, but we will discuss these problems and see how things work out.
Nobby's had a great pre-season and was disappointed not to start at Bolton last week. He is a smashing lad and I've particularly enjoyed listening to his band and I would be sad to see him go if that was to happen."
Solano now replaces former Newcastle team mate Kieron Dyer in the West Ham line up, Dyer broke his leg at the weekend ruling him out of West Ham's immediate plans.
Newcastle also sold 19 year old defender Paul Huntington to Leeds for an undisclosed fee. Huntington, made 11 Premier League appearances for Newcastle.
