Newcastle United manager Glenn Roeder has told Albert Luque he will not be moving to PSV on loan after talks fell apart.
PSV Eindhoven were looking to take the Spaniard on a loan deal until the end of the season, but the 2 clubs could not agree on paying the strikers wages.
The Dutch outfit are turning their interests to other players, including
Luque, who can also play on the left, had his mind set on a move to PSV and will be disappointed that he must remain on Tyneside.
However, Glenn Roeder, whilst sympathising with him, has said he must get on with playing his absolute best for Newcastle United.
Roeder said:
"After a decision made at the highest levels of both clubs, Albert Luque will not be going to PSV
"He has to put PSV out of his mind. I know what it is like when a player sets his heart on joining another club and the move does not happen.
"They become despondent, but I will not accept any despondency around the
"He has to accept the decision. There is nothing he can do about it and there is nothing I can do about it.
"Now he has to get his head down and work for this football club."
