Titus Bramble will be given a new contract by Glenn Roeder, after speculation as to whether he would remain at the club or not.

Early in the season, Bramble was criticised for some blunders costing Newcastle goal's game after game.

But the defender has turned it around, pulling off some decent performances and earning himself a new contract.

Bramble, who is close to a first team return, signed for Newcastle from Ipswich for £4.5 million in 2002, and is rated as the best natural defender at the club by Glenn Roeder.

The 25-year-old was injured against Frankfurt at the end of November and will be looking to come back into the squad and regain his form.
