Faye Deal Nearly Done

Charlton are very close to signing Newcastle United midfielder Amdy Faye in a £2.75 million deal.

Faye was signed in 2004/2005 season by Graeme Souness for £2 million from Portsmouth but has proved to be nothing more than a squad player on Tyneside.

Charlton are also negotiating a deal for Djimi Traore of Liverpool and both are expected to go through in the next few days.

Faye is deemed surplus to requirements in a Newcastle midfield which already boasts the likes of Dyer, Milner, Solano, Parker, Emre, Butt, Duff and N’Zogbia all competing for 4 places, and with the possibility of Gravesen moving to Tyneside, Faye would struggle to start 1 game all season.
