End Milner Speculation - He's Going Nowhere

Glenn Roeder has today moved to assure James Milner of his future and to end the endless tabloid speculation linking him with a move away from St. James' Park.

With plenty of quality in midfield, including new signing Damien Duff, speculation continues to link Milner with a move away from Newcastle, most commonly in part exchange for a badly needed striker.

However the winger will be going nowhere, being told he has a part to play this season at Newcastle, despite the team boasting Duff, N'Zogbia, Solano and, when fit, Kieron Dyer as options on the wings.

Said Roeder:

"James has done well for us in pre-season and we do not want to lose players like him. There has been interest in him from other Premiership clubs but he will be playing a big part for Newcastle United this season."

"James Milner is not going anywhere. He is staying with us and that's the end of the story."

No doubt this will do little to end media speculation, but it should go some way to assuring Milner and Toon fans that the talented winger is staying put.
