Forest prepare loan bid for Chelsea defender

According to national newspaper The Sun, Forest are preparing to make Chelsea an offer for Dutch defender Patrick van Aanholt.

The acquisition panel are apparently keen to bring him to the City Ground on a loan deal.

The player is currently behind Ashley Cole, Yury Zhirkov and Paulo Ferreira in the Stamford Bridge pecking order and would benefit from the first team experience a spell with a Championship club would provide.

Whispers of Forest's interest in the youngster have been persistent over the summer and have as of yet come to nothing. 

The player has previously spent time with Championship outfit Coventry City as well as newly promoted Newcastle United.

WHY WOULD HE JOIN FOREST WHEN HE COULD JOIN A BIG CLUB LIKE FOREST GREEN ROVERS???
