Forest target Aliadiere slams Strachan's recent comments

The player has hit back at reports that he had made the decision to leave the Riverside. "They (Boro) had an option to take which they didn't and I suppose they don't feel desperate to keep me on. That's how it is,"

"You have to play and prove it on the pitch. I'd like to stay but it's not up to me, well it is on the pitch but it's up to the chairman and the manager to keep me or not."

He went to claim that he would be fully committed to whichever club's shirt he ends up wearing.

"Whether it's with Middlesbrough or not," said Aliadiere.

Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan recently claimed that the Frenchman was made available through his own choice, stating that the French striker had decided not to take up the opportunity to renew his contract with the club.

He has made just 12 appearances over the course of three injury plagued seasons with the North-East club.
