Burnley land Forest target Marney

Hull City's DEAN MARNEY was recently reported by the Daily Mirror to be signing for Nottingham Forest however the central midfielder has just signed with Burnley.

According to various sources including the Daily Mirror and Vital Forest, Wolves' Dean Marney was close to signing with Nottingham Forest. The central midfielder plays a similar role to that of heavily publicised Davies transfer interest, Darren Pratley, which meant the move always looked unlikely.

He has become Brian Laws' first summer signing at Turf Moor.

Marney rose through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur, eventually making eight first team appearances. Loan spells at Football League clubs Gillingham, Swindon, QPR and Norwich followed.

Forest will now hopefully be focusing all their efforts on capturing Pratley's signature.
