Ireland for Milner? Snap their hands off.

Stephen Ireland for James Milner plus cash? That's the word on the streets and it would be a tremendous deal for Villa if it comes off.

Milner has class, but Ireland is one of those players that is fully committed, wins the ball, gets things moving and gets his fair share of knocks.

It's fair to say he's one of those players you always fear when you see his name on the opposition team sheet - because you know he will do his very best to beat you.

Quite why City don't want him any more is beyond me.   It does seem that the richer a club the more they think they have to fill every position on their team with silky smooth superstars.

The reality is that you need some grafters in there  - like Paul Scholes or Stephen Ireland - to bring out the best in the showboaters.

Martin - please please do the deal.

Believe it when I see it. The rumour mill is working overtime at the moment and there must be lots of clubs wanting Ireland despite his wages

prefer having Milner and Ireland in the same side because then we'd see the best of Milner (Sm100)(Sm100)(Sm101)

Irelands face doesnt fit at Citeh because Mancini doesnt appreciate traditional box to box British midfielders

If Milner wants away for the money, there's no point stopping him as long as the deal is right for us.
I'd rather have a committed player than one who wants to get even richer than he already is.

I didnt say he wasn't Irish but I do think that the style of play is the same for the whole of the British Isles

He's a decent player but if you are going to comepte at the top of the Prem you need to have class as well.

thats the difference. Man U and City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all go for class as well as workrate. The other clubs like yours are made up of journeymen.
If a journeyman shows signs of class he is bought by one of the big five. end of story i'm afraid.

Ireland and mcGeady will more than make up for losing Milner who must have hasd his confidence knocked by the world cup and who has shown absolutely no loyalty to Villa

buit harsh. He's aprofessional footballer who has to do the best he can for himself in a short career.
fact: if someone offered me daft money for doing something legal I'd take it.
