So it's Houlier and Thompson, Can't help feeling that Houlier and Southgate would have been a better balance for Villa but let's give the the former Scousers the chance they deserve.

Thompson has to overcome the slightly dippy image he has built for himself alongside Jeff Stelling and co.

Houlier has to look more relaxed but I am sure he will find this American owner a lot easier to deal with.

They both have bags of experience, loads oc contacts [hopefully not all just agents] and they are what is always referred to as proper football men.

There should be plenty of passion, the inevitable good results during the honeymoon  period and, hopefully, some sustained succes.
