Name: Gareth Roberts Date Of Birth: 6th February 1978 Place Of Birth: Wrexham, Wales Height: 5ft 8 Weight: 11st Position: Left Back / Left Midfield Squad Number: 3 Former Clubs: Liverpool, Panionios International Honours: Wales - 8 Full Caps Brief Bio: Since arriving on loan from Greek side, Panionios and securing a long term contract with Rovers, Gareth has made the left back position his own. The Welsh international arrived on loan at the beginning of the 1998-99 season, and was a permanent member of the squad by November. In that same season, Gareth played a blinder in the Worthington Cup Final, were Tranmere unfortunately lost 2-1. Since then Gareth has retained his place in the first team and is seen as a great example for the youngsters. More recently, Roberts has played more as a left midfielder, but still has the same effectwith his great reading of the game. Roberts has established himself as being a consistent player, with great performances most games. |
