After yesterdays game against Torquay, Rovers manager, Brian Little, sang the praises of man of the match, Paul Hall. Little admitted that putting Hall upfront changed the game for the better. Hall scored the last goal of the game, and in some fashion.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, manager Brian Little spoke about how putting Paul Hall upfront changed the whole of the game.

The Jamaican was put upfront due to Eugene Dadi being on a yellow card, and looking like he could get sent off. But Little's tactics paid of, with Hall shining aobve the rest.

Little said: "I've had a funny day. I had a call at 9 o'clock saying Chrissie Dagnall was ill and one at half-eleven saying Iain Hume was ill. When Eugene (Dadi) got booked I decided to take him off at half-time. He was disappointed, but I was not going to wait for a third thing to go wrong, which might have been a player sent off.

"Having a ball player in Paul up front made a difference in the second half. Without Iain and Chrissie we needed a little fella up there with pace and guile. It took us 45 minutes to find that with Paul, but he repaid us. He has a lot of things in his locker. You sometimes need someone with a trick up their sleeve."

After such a win, although it wasn't the best of game, Little is setting his sights high saying that before Christmas he would have been extremely pleased with 50 points and we now have 49.

So far unbeaten in 2005, although only 2 games played. But the main things is no loss in the Christmas period. We all know how many games follow one after another, but thankfully we have came out only drawing one game, away to Oldham.
