Maynard the Main Man Against Maidstone

After a almost a full week of voting the results are in and we can confirm that Lois Maynard was the player you voted as your Man of the Match for the 2-1 home win over Maidstone United last Saturday......

Following Saturday's 2-1 home win over Maidstone United last Saturday afternoon which extended Rovers' 100% start to the season to cover five matches, there was a clear winner in the Man of the Match poll as voted for by you the readers of Total Tranmere.

Despite another great team performance in which you might have expected a few contenders for the Award, in the end there was only going to be one winner as Lois Maynard swept to victory on your votes for his second Award of the season already.

Maynard was influential in front of the back four once again as Rovers took a late first half lead through Andy Cook before having to fight back again after Maidstone equalised mid-way through the second half.  Defender Steve McNulty though popped up at a corner to smash a volley into the roof of the net to hand Rovers all three points yet again!

Midfielder Lois Maynard eased to the Man of the Match Award for the Maidstone game

As you can see from the poll results below, Maynard polled a massive 56% of the votes with his nearest challenger, goalscoring hero Steve McNulty coming in a distant second with 25% of the vote.  Jeff Hughes (6%), Steven Jennings (3%) and Andy Cook (3%) were the only other starting players to poll any votes this week, such was the dominance of Steve McNulty and in particular Lois Maynard.

Thanks to everyone who voted this time around and stay tuned after the game tomorrow afternoon away at Southport for another chance to vote for your Man of the Match from that game!

Pretty pleased I took that photo in pre-season now!

It's certainly had a lot of use so far!

Lois seems to be playing very well this season, certainly better than last. At Bromley and Boreham Wood he was very very good.
