A place for fans of both Rovers and Luton Town to discuss Monday afternoon's upcoming match at Prenton Park as Rovers look to build on the two recent draws against Wimbledon and Stevenage...

With the 2014/15 League Two season now into it's final six matches, our match discussion thread returns as Rovers prepare to host Luton Town on Easter Monday.  Tranmere are of course going into the game on the back of two much improved performances against AFC Wimbledon and Stevenage which resulted in 1-1 and 2-2 draws respectively and will be looking to build on that result.

Whether you are unable to make the game for any reason, or even if you are attending, this is the place to discuss all the pre-match build up including team line-up and score predictions, events during the match itself and all the post match fall-out and analysis.   The thread is open to fans of both sides to discuss the events surrounding the game so if you haven't got a Message Forum accounts yet then why not sign up now?

Luton may have had a poor run but they are a good side with all to play for so it will be a difficult game. It is now stating the the obvious to call this a must win game, but at this stage of the season I would rather play a team with something at stake for them. The hardest games are against those teams under no pressure.

No one can confidentally predict a home win with our form over recent seasons but it is winnable

Just win. Don't care about score or performance. Just win.

It's a win or the conference.

Mathematically incorrect but it would feel like it.
You could say a win and the Conference because that could also happen.

My prediction is that the other teams vying for those dreaded last two places also
continue to lose or draw and we escape by default.

Get a result, legitimately of course, no going feral and using gamesmanship, but right now 1-0 results will do and any bigger winning margins will be a bonus.

@#$%& poor performance, the players have been spouting how important it is for weeks to perform well, what the hell was that performance about today then?, too many easter eggs or something?, must of had about 3 shots on target the whole game?!. No urgency, no ideas going forwards?. Why cant they see what it means to the fans?, why are players who love the club starting on the bench?, is it the players, is it the coaches?, is it the manager?, is the whole club just a joke with no passion at all?, this is not the club i remember falling in love with? whats happened? who are Tranmere Rovers? we are unrecognizable, why pay to go and watch? i am really wondering why now, if the players dont give a @#$%& about the badge, just sack the @#$%&

Until the penalty it was two teams that did not want to lose the game, they seemed happy as did we to play out a 0-0. We matched them and it was as if they thought that was good enough. Well it wasnt, we go one down and then we start playing and showing some urgency. Same old story, we are down, we need everyone out all players the manager the coaching staff. Winning is a habit, but so is losing. The rot is deep set, we know how to lose, not how to win. Fresh start is needed from top to bottom.

Getting rid of everyone wouldn't help. Some are better than others, but if you have some decent players mingled with ones that don't have enough consistency it can mar other peoples performances.

Plus it would be too expensive to get rid of the squad and then what a manager building onto a squad with Gumbs, Pilling and Ramsbottom in it?

Some will say but who it could be is anyone's guess.

At least the gap is still 1 point, an not more, but again a lost opportunity, as the point was definitely on until Tranmere hit the self destruct button again.

Ball watching-today's was the worst of the many such incidents that have cost us big time this season. Will they ever learn? Almost certainly-NO. Grrrr!!

We simply didn't create enough chances. Odejayi seemed to be flicking everything on rather than holding it up. Whether he was told to do that I don't know. Needed to keep the ball on the floor more and run at them especially that fat old git at the back.

the fat old git at the back was a better defender than any of ours and (almost) embarrassingly ran through at the end to (almost) score.

Yes, that would have took the @#$%& completely had he scored. The point is, he was hardly the quickest, but we never exploited that fact

I don't agree with the lack of effort etc. today I thought we did ok, tactics were wrong didn't use the floor or pace which we should have against their back 4. Jmw yet again waste of space. Taylor (who I like) can't play that far up the pitch he has to be full back on overlap not a winger. I still feel we can stay up with other teams worse than us

Only one team worse than us the other twenty two are above us ,the league does not lie if we manage to crawl into the twenty second spot there will be two teams worse than us then.

But can not see any wins coming our way sadly.

devastating, we were crying out for the "fat old git at the back" in our team, he was a leader, he never stopped talking, i have personally had enough of the whole dam thing, i need some time away from the club, they are killing me

One of the main reasons the "fat old git" was the best player on the park was that we watered the pitch. A dry fast pitch would have exposed his lack of pace. Please, please can someone find out why we water the pitch even when we've just had 4 days of persistent rain!

A few people with portable hair dryers should have run on to the pitch, trying to dry out the wet bits.

Here you, you can take your pick.

Portable / battery operated hair dryers

Alternatively Solar powered ones from China.

Hey Matt, wow! , those solar power ones might just do the trick. We could put the panels on the roof (also will act as fix for the leaks, bonus!). And then have those on the bench holding a hair drier each, and the ball boys could too?... or would it be a bit too dry near the dugout area then?... what do you think?

Matt i was just wondering....do you know if they do battery operated or a Solar powered scoreboard from China (on the cheap) LOL

A dry dugout would prevent the subs slipping. Last thing you need is a sub warming up, slipping and knackering his groin.

As for solar powered score boards, this is an example of one.

As you see it is actually for gold, but then it's feasible the technology could be and may already have been replicated for football score boards.
