Fonners Called Up for Wales

By Liam Gryba
March 18 2015

Rovers' shot stopper is off to Israel with Wales. .

Owain Fon Williams has been called up for Wales Trip to Israel on 28th March. This means that he will miss the home game with AFC Wimbledon on the same date. With Peter Brezovan on loan to Southport this leaves Micky Adams short of cover between the sticks.

They must have known this possibility would arise? How long was Brezovan's loan?

It will be interesting to see if Micky puts his faith in Sam or Luke (most likely the former) but at a crucial time like this it's a huge risk.

It's good for Fonners' cv but not good for the team at present. We need him here. Despite some of the criticism that's been directed at him, he has been in top form recently. It's thanks to him that we haven't been on the receiving end of some good "tonkings".

Brezovan went to Southport for a month about 27th Feb so surely he will be back on 28th March
