Swindon Town v Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion Thread
By Deadly Submarine
October 4 2013
If you can't make Tranmere's away game at Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...
Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.
As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.
Tranmere of course, travel to Swindon Town in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on? You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
I would like to see a hard working efficient performance. Lets keep 11 men on the pitch for a start. Cut out silly mistakes and take some chances. Not too much to ask is it?
[quote pablopete]lets hope we can finally get 3 points these are no better than us,thoughts on best 11 when Wallace, koumas, robinson fit[/quote.
Results this season would suggest otherwise! We've got a dreadfull record there and were hammered home and away by them last season. Can't see any reason for optimism today I'm afraid. 3-1 Swindle.
goosed oh dear oh dear another penalty against us, we have no luck wot so ever, bottom of league now
Just got back and mixed emotions really. I don't think we did too much wrong but we lost and now were bottom. My main critisim is that we don't look like scoring so once we concede the inevitable goal we look beaten. That's the worry. The losing habit we have. Swindon just had to do the basics in 2nd gear and that was enough for 3 points.
Defence was solid enough, Ash in particular played well. Ranger is a good player, but we kept him quiet.
Midfield was strange, I was impressed with Ridhalgh. Lowe chased everything but was playing out of position (right wing). Max was up for the battle but offered little creativity.
Sodje was@#$%&up front. He was playing the lone striker, yet if he did win a header he was flicking it on. And on the rare occasion we did get the chance to break he wasn't far enough forward.
In The second half, we had about 65% of procession, yet it was always 1 pass forward, 2 passes back. The midfield didn't look hungry enough as a unit, their was not enough movement, creating spaces.
At the end of the day, the game was dire. We set out for the draw (all 6 available defenders started), yet when we were losing, we didn't change it.
