HEADERNEW - matchdiscussion

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Stadium - Tranmere Rovers (Day)

Tranmere of course host Charlton Athletic in N Power League One on Saturday afternoon, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on.

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game onthis thread where possible but these details are updated also on our Twitter Page throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.

Depends on Les`s line up do not what us to sit back in a negative outlook perhaps we have to go for it like a dog with a bone(Sm73) hassle them and perhaps we can snatch a goal or two I might be asking a lot but we may pul it of 2-1(Sm128).

I think we need to play out of our skins once again (ala Peterbrough) to have any chance of nicking a point.

I really rate Gulacsi (bad spelling) though and if he plays as well as he did at the back end of last season, then I think a clean sheet is a possibility. Just hope one of our forwards can knock one in.

So im going for a biased and far too overly positive 1-0 win for the Rovers!

Well but for a bout of butterfingers ... you'd have been right.

A fantastic and well deserved point. We battled hard from behind and to be honest could have got all three if we'd been a bit luckier in the second half.

First 30 we were woefully poor. Really struggled to get into the game and the goal was an absolutely terrible error by Gulacsi. David Blunkett would have caught that.

But last hour we were really good. Defence pulled together and won nearly everything that came their way, especially Blanchard who was extremely dominating and won everything in the air. He's an impressive player.

Midfield wise I though we really didn't get into in the first half. But second half Welsh was much more effective, especially going forward amd winning plenty of tackles, whilst Mendy put himself about well and Akins was a huge threat second half. Best he's played for us I think. Labadie I thought was weak all day though, he pulled out of so many challanges.

Enoch worked his socks off and put in a great performance, really deserved his goal, whilst Dale Jennings completely changed the game. Every time he got the ball, the crowd responded and urged him on, whilst Charlton were scared of him, they backed off him every time and he caused so many problems. Not scared to shoot, not scared to take a man on. He's going to be a hell of a player.

Cresswell was my MOTM though. He was really effective with ALL his set pieces which caused so many problems and it was hardly a surprise when we finally scored from one of them.

Great to see us come from behind and get a point but it really could have been more. Hopefully we can keep up that kind of display and be more consistent now as we go to Colchester next week, where another point would be excellent.

On a side note, I though Charlton were the dirtiest team I've seen in a long time. I've not seen a team commit so many niggling fouls so often for ages. They could have had two men sent off and it wouldn't have been unjust.

Thankfully Tranmere are still in with a chance of getting out of the bottom 4, were they to even get a point at Colchester, which past history indicates is more likely than not. It would be a nuicance if they did though, if one or more teams above them lost, but the same number below them won and Tranmere go nowhere with 2 or 4 teams shuffling around them.

Right now I'd settle for Tranmere getting one place up. Annoys me they're behind Hartlepool now, not on goals scored, just on alaphabetical order.

Assuming it's not now down to who's scored more at home.

John Welch was my man of the match, thought he played excellent and got stuck in, gave everything for the full 90 minutes. Having said that, there were 10 other players who played well yesterday and it was a great result.
