Due to the recent and ongoing bad weather conditions, Tranmere’s home fixture against Yeovil Town has now been moved from Friday 15th January to Saturday 16th January with a 3.00pm kick-off as Rovers announce a ‘Kids For a Quid’ offer for the game…..

Following the announcement yesterday that Tranmere's trip to Gillingham this Saturday had become the latest victim of the bad weather, Rovers have today moved to ensure that next weekend's home game against Yeovil Town is given the best possible chance of surviving the weather in order to remain on.

As a result, the Coca-Cola League One fixture, which was originally scheduled to take place on Friday 15th January at 7.45pm, has now been moved back a day to Saturday 16th at 3.00pm to give the game the best possible chance of going ahead with more time to ensure the pitch is fit to play on and the surrounding areas are safe for spectators.

In addition to the switch of date for this fixture, the Club have also announced a ‘Kids For a Quid' offer for this game which ensures that all Juniors aged 16 and under will be admitted to the game for just £1.00.

Speaking of both the re-arranged date for the game and the ‘Kids For a Quid offer, Chief Executive Mick Horton said...

"The latest weather forecast says the cold weather continues over the coming weekend and well into next week."

"Moving the game to the Saturday gives the Club extra time to work on the pitch and surrounding areas to make it as safe as possible for both players and supporters.  We stand a far better chance of playing the game at 3.00pm rather than 7.45pm on the Friday night."

"This is an important game for both sides and coming so soon after Christmas we have decided to admit all Juniors (aged 16 and under) for just £1.00.  Tickets can be purchased in advance or cash can be paid on the turnstiles (except Main Stand)."

Tickets can be purchased from the Ticket Office or online at http://www.tranmererovers.co.uk.

Ticket Office and Club Shop opening hours are as follows:

Monday to Friday: 9.30am - 5.00pm

Midweek Match Nights: 9.30am - Kick-Off

Non-Match Saturdays: 10.00am - 1.00pm

Match Saturdays: 10.00am - Kick-Off

Total Tranmere FC players are reminded that despite the re-arrangement of this Tranmere fixture, the scheduled TTFC match at Shaftesbury on the morning of the 16th at 11.30am remains on subject to the weather.

OK who's happy and who isn't about this change of date.

At first I was frustrated because of the TTFC match not kicking off till 11.30am but if it means more chance of the game being on then it's a great move and much better surely for Yeovil Fans?

From a personal point of view, prefer a Friday, but if the game will go ahead then definitely go for the Saturday.

Either way I'd be there though.

with the weather being that bad it may not go ahead anyway but think makes sense as should be a bit warmer saturday afternoon than friday night and we could do with the game being on and of course winning.

It makes sense as the weather would probably mean the game definately couldn't be on on the Friday evening, but I won't be able to attend the Saturday fixture as I return to Sheffield in the afternoon. Gutted.

Despite, moving the game to saturday, the match is still in danger of being called off! The reason behind this are, the pitch is still covered in about three inches of snow and underneath that, it is rock hard! The streets and surrounding areas around Prenton Park are covered in ice.
The safety people won't allow the club to play
We need a big rise in temperature, which at present is not forecast!
Get your prayer mats out lads!!
