Northampton T v Tranmere Match Discussion Thread

By Deadly Submarine

If you're unable to make the away trip to Northampton Town this afternoon in Coca-Cola League One, why not discuss the game right here as Tranmere look to grab some much needed pointa away from home in their quest for a play-off spot.

At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can.  One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.

As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.

Tranmere are of course playing away at Northampton Town on Saturday afternoon in Coca-Cola League One so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on and even discuss the team news and build up to the game beforehand too?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.  Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in League One as well as discussing the game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

im confident of us getting a result today, 1-0 i think
todays starting 11 is much stronger than the other night,
goodison and shotton being back is key,
meaning tony pushes on and becomes a big goal threat,
from what i hear henry being dropped may be a bit harsh but i think rm has made the right changes,
shukes has lost the plot at the moment and is rightly replaced by mayor,
would have rather seen gornell than savage but cant ask for everything.

COME ON ROVERS!

What and unbelieveable and frustrating game.

I don't think I've seen Rovers dominate so much and not win a game but once again the failure to shoot in good positions and the 'wrong choices' in the final third that Ronnie has spoken about before came back to bite us.

Savage had a decent game but still spent too much time on the floor and diving. He took his header well although he was unmarked and he did have it handed to him on plate by the new winger Mayor who was excellent, especially first half.

The goal was a stupid one. Taylor lost possession in the centre circle. Some Rovers fans thought he had been fouled but personally I didn't and they scored a good finish on the break from their Man of the Match Andy Holt (ex-Wrexham).

Barnett had an excellent game and was probably Man of the Match with Jenno and Shotton running him close. Goodison looked shaky at times but Chorley was excellent again!

As Mikey pointed out to me on the phone before, we have gained another point on Oldham today but for me Wednesday now becomes a game we have to really win rather than gaining a respectable point otherwise I fear it's all over after one point from those last two games.

After seeing the highlights..... The cross for Bas' goal was brilliant. Did well to get past the man and the cross itself was inch perfect. Bas did his best to miss it as it just hit him on the head. And his dancing is pants.

For their goal, Goodison rushed out from the back, got skinned with ease and left us short at the back. Good finish from Holt mind, that was easily miss-able.

Looking forward to seeing Mayor play on wednesday now.

lol'z
The highlights I saw only showed the goals and just talked about the rest so I haven't seen Barnett's shots that were close.

Great cross, great header. Really impressed by that and just from that 10 seconds of action it looks like Ronnie could have pulled a rabbit out of the hat in signing Mayer. He's also gone on record critisising both Shuker and Sonko so hopefully that will give the two of them a kick up the @#$%&.

Their goal looks like terrible defending by Goodison

A lot of our fans thought it was foul on Taylor in the build-up to the goal but I didn't at the time and Ronnie Moore agreed with that view in his post-match comments.
