For those who are unable to go to the away game against Colchester Utd this afternoon, here is your platform for discussing all the events of the afternoon as well as the build up to it pre-match and any other aspects of the match that you may wish to discuss here.

At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can.  One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.

As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.

Tranmere are of course playing at away to Colchester United on Saturday afternoon in Coca-Cola League One so if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on and even discuss the team news and build up to the game beforehand too?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.  Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores in League One as well.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Well with Hereford v Leeds off it makes it all the more interesting, I must admit I am not too optimistic ahead of this match, but if we can sneak a win then we will be a point off Scunny with Oldham being the only side above us who are in action today we have got such a great chance to put some pressure on the sides around us with a win by drawing clear of Leeds and Stockport even if it is only for a couple of days.

With Colchester 6pts behind us, their season is potentially hinged on this match, a win could put them within 7pts of the playoffs, and within 3 pts of the sides in the mix-up outside of the top 6 even though they would have played 1 game more than nearly all of the sides above them, whilst a loss would drop them 9pts behind us and keep them 10pts off the playoffs after playing a game more than everyone else, with a very difficult game away to MK Dons next weekend.

If I had to go with who is likely to want and need the win more i will have to say Colchester here, their home record is improving as the season goes on whilst we have hit a brick wall with our away form. If Colchester do crumble under the pressure that this match has on them, then we can very much win this game, and if all goes well we could have a chance of getting into the play-offs by winning the Peterborough match, but I am not totally confident of us getting anything out of this game

This game is subject to a pitch inspection at 12, just thought I would let you know. Might be an idea to keep an eye on it and inform any fans travelling down.

TBH the ref has made a massive cock up here, I went to the pictch to buy my tickets at about 11:30 this morning and I took a look at the pitch, it was absolutly fine. Gavin Ward has made a huge cock up here, what a mug. Matches are still going on at Ipswich and Sudbury but for some reason were an isolated part of east anglia were all the frost is, no the ref has cocked it up big time. Drove past tranmere fans just getting off the bus by the drury arms pub when it was announced that the match was called off by the radio. Colchester have lost 15k by this refs cock up, what a joke.

according to some games.....not neccesarily this one but the likes of Hereford and some of the called off FA cup games...the referees more concerned about the pitch conditions come 4pm rather than how they currently are. With temperatures way below freezing still, many officials fear the pitch will refreeze by half time!

We arrived at 12 and went straight into the Ground to take pictures via a side gate.

We spoke to a security guy and he made no mention then of the game being in doubt and it wasn't until about 13:10 that we saw Gavin Ward digging his key into the Grass and knew something wasn't right.

We had already been to the ticket office and bought tickets by this time (again with no mention of the game being of doubt).

At 13:20 the officials left the pitch with news that a further inspection would be made ten minutes later by which time Tranmere Players and Staff had arrived.

They had a walkabout and the game was then confirmed as off.

Now we only stood by the pitch when taking photos but there seemed no cause for concern as far as I was concerned.

We also heard a story afterwards that it had been in doubt as early as 9.00am.

To be honest, rather relieved I didn't fork out the 50 or so quid. My mate was on coach by himself, I was going to go but only arrived home from holiday on Friday evening so it was too late to get coach tickets.
I have heard ridiculous rumours of Ronnie leaning on the ref to get it called off, surely there is no truth in this.
At least we wouldn't have had to endure another awful refereeing performance like Northants away last season (it was the same ref).
Deadly submarine how did the ground outside look were the roads icy or the pitch?
Definitely going to Millwall on the train so no club colours lolwinking smiley
Away to Colchester on a Tuesday night, home at 4 in the morning see you there!

Ronnie wanted the game to go ahead but their Manager didn't.

Around the ground is all wasteland but the bits where there was water it was all frozen around the ground.

Good performance by Tranmere, not the best result with only getting a point down there. Have to say Bas played really well, some good link up play with Moore, and on another day he could have had a hat-trick.
Well played lads... SWA
