For those who are unable to go to the game against Cheltenham Town tonight, here is your platform for discussing the events of the night whether it be the Rovers match itself or any other happenings in Coca-Cola League One that affect Tranmere in any way.
Cheltenham Town Match Discussion Thread
At Total Tranmere, we always like to take note of feedback from the users of the site and respond to it in the best way we can. One thing we have picked up on more recently is that after Tranmere games there seem to be a lot of different threads that get started about the same game.
As a result of this feedback, from now on we will be providing Match Discussion Threads for every occasion when Tranmere play.Tranmere are of course at home to Cheltenham Town later tonight but if you're not going to the game, why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses. Or why not post the line-ups or anything else you can think of.
Why not also use this facility to discuss other games and scores that kick-off at 7.45pm which may or may not have an effect on Tranmere too.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Tranmere Rovers v Cheltenham Town Match Discussion
To start, very very pleased with a home win and a home clean sheet. We needed that after a good win on saturday.
The game, well first half i thought we defnded ok but going forward we lacked positivity and creativity, and tbh it was a little boring.
However we came out second half much more ambitious and knocked the ball round faster and put them under much more sustained pressure.
I still think though that the midfield needs changing as kay edds and jenno where all very very poor, ahmed barnett and ocallaghan, atleast one has to be used as the other 3 have no creativity whatsoever.
As much as i have critisised him, i thought shuker was realy really good tonight, he was definatly my motm. He ran at his defender and put in quite a few good crosses into the box. I think that it might definatly have been a confidence thing with him as he looked confident to run at his man and shoot when he had the chance.
Apart from savage, goodison and chorley i dont really think anybody else really stood out. Overall very happy lets go on and smash crewe!

Excellent result as after a drab first half, we came out after the break, took the game too them and beat them comfortably.
Shuker was magic, easily my MOTM, his crosses for both goals were stunning and he was excellent in general all night, unlucky not to get a goal with a couple of curling effots.
Ian Moore ran well and looked good whilst Savage's goal was an excellent header, unstoppable!
Danny Coyne kept us in it with some great saves, really impressed with him tonight, whilst Goodison and Chorley were very, very solid.

Great result tonight. It's about time. Shuker was absolutely immense, easily MOTM, and Bas gave in a good performance as usual.
I thought Edds was particularly disappointing which was a shame. I think he needs to take out Jenno and Edds and give 2 others a go.
Danny's save in the first half was one hell of a save. Got a good view of it seeing as i'm the only one on the front row of the kop.
Andy Taylor and Ian Moore also ran their socks off tonight which is good to see. Although Ryan Shotton wasn't at is usual standard tonight but he was still decent enough.
Great Win and hopefully more of the same on Friday =D

I thought Jennings was pretty good yet again in midfield and most things went through him, whilst Edds again had a quiet game really.
Shuker was Man of the Match by a country mile BUT I still maintain that he was better on Saturday at Orient than tonight - that is how well he played on Saturday before Sonko replaced him.
His crosses tonight were superb though and he got stuck in as well whilst credit should also go to Moore, Savage (poor first half but great second) and Chorley who all had excellent games.
A much needed win and a great boost ahead of another important home game on Friday night against another struggling side.
I was confident after Saturday but cautious with the two home games coming up. After tonight I'm extremely confident and hopefully the players will be too.

I think Shotton is becoming very indifferent. He loses the ball too much and for a full-back he gets turned very, very easily. He also can't cross.
I agree. I always thought he was slightly overrated to begin with but he has certainly been nothing special in recent games.
After speaking to Ronnie tonight, Shotton is apparently with us until the FA Cup 2nd Round Game (if we get there) and then he returns to Stoke until January when we are going to try and get him until the end of the season.
Ronnie also said there is "no chance" of signing him permanently.
Who would you play at right-back in December in Shotton's absence? Holmes or Edds would be the two choices and I suppose Kay as well as an option.

I'd give Danny Holmes a try if I was Ronnie tbh. I don't rate Antwi at all and I think Danny deserves his chance.
Forgot about Antwi to be honest but I don't think he is the answer there as you say John.
Danny Holmes, easily. Quick, energetic, good on the over lap and an excellent crosser, there will be nobody more commited on the pitch and he is an great tackler.
I agree on Holmes but can we realistically see it happening?

I agree that it's not likely to happen 
I'd rather see Danny play over Edds in that position and Kaysy seems to have established himself as a midfield man.

Back to the match, i would agree that Shuker looked like his old self, and let's hope that he can continue. Playing well will surely only improve his confidence more
