Grayson: Taylor to Be a Rover!

After missing out on the signature of Blackburn Rovers left-back Andy Taylor, Blackpool Boss Simon Grayson says that the youngster who has been on loan at Tranmere for the past two months is likely to sign for Ronnie Moore's men on a permanent basis.
Today Blackpool Manager Simon Grayson has announced that young Blackurn Rovers prospect Andy Taylor has rejected The Tangerines to sign for bidding rivals Tranmere.
Tranmere would have to pay a fee for the Player and the last time Rovers spent money was on Kevin Ellison from Hull City for an undisclosed fee. He has since moved on to Chester City last summer after one season at Prenton
Andy has also rejected the chance of more money at Bloomfield Road in exchange for first team football at the Club where he has spent the last two months on loan.
Many Rovers fans will be delighted to hear this news as Taylor has been on top form since his arrival from Ewood Park and has even scored a goal away at Crewe on New Years Day as Rovers lost 4-3 in a thriller.
After missing out on Taylor's signature today, Simon Grayson told the media.....
"We agreed a fee with Blackburn the other day and we got close to doing a deal but unfortunately Andy decided that he would be better off going elsewhere just through being able to play more football."
"He said to me the other day when we spoke, he's been waiting for the opportunity to come back to Blackpool for the last 18 months or so - it hasn't happened for whatever reason and he just felt that at this time in his career that he needed to go and play football, and that's what he's going to do."
"I'm disappointed to lose him but I can fully understand the lad's position that he's in and also it would have been a hard position for him to get into with Stephen Crainey playing so well this year."
"The money wasn't an issue for Andy. Andy just wants to be guaranteed to play football, he wants to be able to go and make a name for himself. I fully understand his decision - we probably offered him more money than Tranmere - the lad just needs to play football and I couldn't guarantee him that and I can fully understand his decision for going to Tranmere."
"I wish him well, and if he does well, we'll keep an eye on him and maybe try and sign him back again in the future," he added."

I have to say I think Simon Grayson's comments there are a credit to Football. Very touching words towards a player who just refused to sign for his team!
