The 29 year old midfielder signed a two year contract with Rovers this summer after playing under Ronnie Moore at Rotherham in the past.

 

McLaren, said to be a bit of a set-piece expert, began his career at Luton Town where he spent seven years before moving to Sheffield Wednesday and then on to the Owls’ near neighbours Rotherham under the Management of Ronnie Moore.

 

McClaren is believed to have chosen Rovers over many other League 1 Clubs, possibly opting for Prenton Park because of the influence of Ronnie Moore .
