Leeds Get off to winning ways

Leeds got their 2012/13 season off to a strong start with a 4-0 victory over SHrewsbury Town in the League cup.

In front a crowd of just over 18k, Leeds won comfortably with goals from Becchio, Varney, Norris and McCormack.

It was the first time the Elland Road got to see eight new players, seven of whom were new signings over the summer.  With all talk of a take-over dominating the news is recent weeks, it was good to get Leeds United back to playing football to take our minds of it all - well, at least for 90 minutes.

Leeds announced before kick off that they had signed El-Hadj Diouf who came on for McCormack on 76 minutes.
