Leeds clinch signing number 4

By Andy Baggott

As expected, Leeds have clinched signing number 4 of the close season, with Swansea City left back Fede Bessone making the move to Elland Road. The Argentine has joined on a 3 year contract after his contract expired. The 26 year old has, like fellow countryman Lucianno Becchio, had a spell at Barcelona, as well as playing for Espanyol and Gimnastic in Spain.

He will provide competition at left back, where Ben Parker has been struggling with a run of injuries - last year Andy Hughes helped out, whilst on loan Shane Lowry, Aiden White and Bradley Johnson have all filled in.

Bessone is highly righted, and a great capture for Simon Grayson, but don'e expect it to be the last new face through the door over the next 6 weeks or so...

another good signing... we're addressing all the right positions.

add a DCM and a pacey striker, and we've got a great squad.

Leeds, Always.

Add a pair of CB's to that list and I'd describe our squad as adequate....

All 4 are improvements on the squad

Casper Ankergran replaced By Kasper Scmeichel Big Improvement

Paul Connolly Replacing Jason Crowe Hopefully will be a gain

Fede Bessone Replacing Shane Lowry/Hughes Natural LB with pace and Championship experience

Billy Paynter Replacing Kandol as third Striker good scoring record and reliable

So far so good still got spots to fill(CB CM and Striker) in squad and get rid of unwanted players

Couple of weeks to go to 1st July and I expect the rate of transfers to increase generally as more players out of contract make decisions on next season

My words entirely

We carnt rely on Kisnorbo early season because he wont be back until October and if you look at people who return from that type of injury (Joe Cole) it takes another month or so to get back to where you were, by December he will be playing back at the level he was before. That leaves Bromby and Naylor so i think we definatley need one if not TWO centre backs.

A bit of pace on the flank like Sanchez Watt on loan, pace in attack like Hooper and a defensive midfield player who is a real box to box player Russell/Carsley/Brown etc will give us a squad who could reach the play offs.
