Swindon were limited to a handful of counter attacks but on each one, did look more threatening that we had managed all half despite our dominance.  Doyle had a long range low drive well saved, Beckford had a glancing header and a tight angle shot well dealt with by former Leeds keeper, David Lucas, and Hughes found himself with the ball under his feet from 6 yards out but could only manager a shot straight at Lucas that was easily dealt with.  Whilst chances were limited, they were at least there.

Cue the proverbial kick in the danglies!  Swindon broke just three minutes before the break and a cross to the far post saw Hughes slip and Higgs beaten high at his near post.  It was undeserved, but it was Swindon who found the net when it mattered after Leeds had failed to do so.

After all of the confidence of the first half performance, you will never see a team perform so differently in the same game as was witnessed at Elland Road yesterday.  The team that came out for the second half, whilst appearing to be the same players, showed nothing of the fight of the first half.

Swindon were given time and space on the ball and quickly doubled their lead with a shot from outside of the area that was not closed down.   I remember playing 'Jumpers for Goalposts' football when I was a kid and I saw the same reaction from Leeds yesterday as happened when as youngsters somebody claimed the ball had 'Dog Poo on it'.  No-one wanted it, no one wanted to take responsibility and nobody fought like they had in the first half.

Swindon continued to play and before long, a third went in following a simple cross to an unmarked player in the box.  The fans reacted with boo's, the players didn't react at all.

The half wore on - Gradel, Parker and Dicov were all brought on, but made no impact and Leeds were limited to just one half chance when Snoddy fired high over the bar from inside the area.

The result not only saw Swindon take second spot, but saw Leeds drop to 4th and as fans left early, the mutterings were all about Grayson, Bates and whether we could even qualify for the play-off's.
