With the media buzzing of a possible move to Manchester City for Leeds youngster, Fabian Delph, fans can take some comfort that his presence was hardly missed as Leeds romped to a 2-1 vicotry against Premeirship new boys, Burnley on Saturday.

The match was the end of a successful pre-season that saw Leeds face Premiership opposition on three occasions, and didn't lose a single one of them!

Against Burnley yesterday, it was Leeds who had the upper hand for long spells in the match and went 2-0 up before Burnley pulled one back in the last 15 minutes.  American Mike Grella finally got on the score sheet and Andy Robinson came off the bench to double the Leeds tally, but the talking point of the match was the absence of Delph.

The official line from the club was that the youngster had picked up a knock in training but with rumours flying around that Manchester City had joined Spurs and Villa in their interest for the midfielder, eyebrows were raised and his failure to appear on the teamsheet only seemed to confirm what has been expected since December 2008, Delph could be heading for the door.

City manager, Mark Hughes added further to the speculation last night when he confirmed they were interested in Delph and it now seems inevitable that the Bradford born player will not be at Elland Road when Exeter arrive at Elland Road next Saturday to kick off the new season.

Figures quoted range from £4m to £10m and the general feeling amongst supporters is an acceptance he will go for the right money, and a long as it is invested in the football side of the club there will be few complaints.

Whether that actually happens is another matter.

Bradford City also have a sell-on clause for the youngster and will take a pecentage of any fee agreed.

Leeds end Pre-season on high without Delph.

if delph goes to man city how much first team football his he going to get???

any other team he might get to play but at man city he be another one sat on the beench most weeks
then they will re sell at a silly price
