ROYALS DENY LITA LINK

Lita has had a fantastic season for the Robins in League 1, scoring 30 goals and has attracted the interest of some Premiership sides as well as Championship sides.

But the report, which was published in a local newspaper in Bristol has been strongly denied by Royals Chief Executive Nigel Howe. He told the official website;

"Leroy Lita is clearly a very good prospect, and we are aware that he is being looked at by a number of clubs. However, we have not made a bid for him.

"Our Director of Football Nick Hammond did have a general end of season conversation with Bristol City where Lita was mentioned, along with a number of other topics, but this has not resulted in a bid.

"It is well known we are looking to add to our squad and we are considering a number of options, but as always we would like to conduct those discussions behind closed doors rather than through the media.

"We will comment properly through the official channels as and when deals have been completed, but in the meantime supporters can rest assured that we are working hard behind the scenes to add to our squad."

The Royals can expect a transfer kitty of at least £1million in the summer and will be looking to strengthen the squad, especially with the introduction of the transfer window this season.
