EVERTON IN FOR SIDWELL

The former England U21 midfielder has again had a good season for the Royals in there push for the Premiership and this has alerted Toffee's Manager David Moyes who is looking for a tough tackling midfielder to replace the departed Tommy Gravesen who left the club in January to sign for La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Moyes checked out Sidwell in last Tuesday's 2-1 win over Millwall and will certainly have money in the summer to spend. Everton currently lie in 4th place in the Premiership which is good enough for a Champions League spot which is worth an estimated £20million. Added to that, the Blues can expect another £10 million from the sale of England star Wayne Rooney to Manchester United last summer.

Whether Sidwell leaves is another matter. The midfielder will have 2 years left on his current deal after the end of this season and will be questioning if the Royals really do have the aspirations of reaching the Premiership.

Another question that remains is would the club be willing to sell the former Arsenal midfielder? Manager Steve Coppell might look at the sale of Sidwell has a way of re-strengthening the squad after a lack of transfer activity over recent months.

This isn't the first time that Sidwell is attracting clubs from top clubs. Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic, Celtic and Rangers have all kept tabs on Sidwell who was recently voted the best player outside the Premiership by Football Magazine Four-Four-Two.

Staying with the News of the World, they are reporting that former striker Nathan Tyson is a summer transfer target for Manchester City should Stuart Pearce get the manager's job on a full time basis. Tyson has been a revelation for Wycombe Wanderers since his move from the Royals in 2003 and certainly has the ambition to play at the top level.
